Update - 27th March 2020
Our catering provider has responded to feedback given and added extra items into the hamper for next week (Tuesday 31st March 2020). These include, jam, margarine, cheese triangles, pasta, some fresh vegetables. Hampers can be picked up by the main School Gate between 11am and 1pm on Tuesday. If you are self-isolating and are unable to leave your home, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to get the hamper to you.
Free School Meals Information from the Government
We know that schools and education settings are concerned about the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on pupils currently eligible for benefits-related free school meals.

Support for pupils who have to stay at home
Under normal circumstances, schools are not expected to provide free school meals to disadvantaged children who are not attending due to illness or if the school is closed. We expect schools to continue to provide support to these pupils if:

At Southwood, the following provision will be made available for pupils currently eligible for benefits-related free school meals:
Weekly lunch hamper that can be picked up from the Main School Gate between 11am and 1pm every Tuesday.
Please note we are clarifying with the Government whether this applies to the Easter holiday period.
Please call the School Office or email email@example.com by 4pm on the Friday if you are eligible for the weekly lunch hamper and wish to pick it up between 11am and 1pm on the following Tuesday from the Main School Gate. Any questions or queries regarding free school meals, please also email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please also note that this only applies to benefits-related free school meals and not all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 who usually get universal infant free school meals.
