Home Learning Information during School Closure

Pages have been set up to support home learning for pupils whilst the school is closed due to the Coronavirus.  Each week, a Home Learning Overview will be uploaded by 8am Monday morning for parents/carers to access, along with additional resources and web-based links for pupils to explore.  Should you have any questions or wish to request a login and password reminder for online resources, please contact the year group team via email using this email address provided. Each team will check the inbox on a daily basis and get back to you as soon as possible.  Please note that we are setting home learning activities to support routine and education, however we do not expect parents/carers to teach new concepts and understand that many of you are trying to work from home too.  At the very least, pupils should be encouraged to read every day and practise arithmetic skills.  We urge families to follow Government guidance and to stay safe.

Update: 26/03/2020

Please bear with us as we set up our home learning pages. We have added an 'Online Activities' section with some great websites. We understand some of you can't open Word or PDF documents so we will be amending how we present the home learning timetable and activities as soon as possible. We also understand there are some issues with the email addresses and we are working with our IT provider to resolve these as soon as possible.

We will be adding a section about reading on each home learning page and have started to add a section about maths. We would highly recommend all parents/carers in Reception, Year 1 and 2 download the School Jam app from the App Store on your mobile devices. We will be sending out app codes in the next couple of days or please email your year group email address for them. There are some great practical and digital activities which link in with our Power Maths scheme. We also would highly recommend all parents/carers in all year groups sign up to The Maths Factor website. This is a free resource with short videos by Carol Vorderman explaining mathematical calculations. For maths, another highly recommended website is NRICH which provides children with more open ended problem solving tasks. We will be adjusting our weekly timetables to include recommended activities on these apps/websites.

Easter

Please note that we will not be uploading weekly timetables for the Easter holidays. We recommend children take a break from learning and enjoy time at home or in the garden if possible doing fun activities, finding out about topics of their choice and reading for pleasure. You are welcome to use the 'Online Activities' section or the home learning activities for Week 1 and 2 if they have not completed them. You can also encourage them to spend more time on the projects that have been suggested for their year group. New home learning activities will be uploaded on Monday 20th April 2020 should the school continue to be closed.
