Southwood v Thomas Arnold

1-1 after Full time ( lost 3-2 Penalties )

Southwood kicked off and attacked Thomas Arnold from the start and nearly scoring within the first few minutes – it was end of end football with both sides nearly scoring on several occasions, some great goal keeping by Ahmed and defending by Kyran, Daniel & Clarence kept the score 0-0 at half time – the second half saw Southwood fall behind when Thomas Arnold scored but Southwood never let their heads drop and with 5 minutes to go Wasir broke through and scored to finish 1-1

As it was a Cup game and getting quite dark the game when straight to Penalties , after Ahmed saved the first and Charlie & wasir scored to lead 2-1 the Thomas Arnold then made 3 great saves and saw his side win 3-2 – it was a great game of football played in the right spirit with the boys shaking hands and congratulating each other at the end  - we wish Thomas Arnold all the best in the next round.

Match Report by Charlie T ( Cpt )

Southwood 4 v 3 Valence

On Wednesday 10th October Southwood Primary School made the short trip to Valence to play a local Friendly game of Football for Yr6 boys. Southwood kicked off and conceded a goal within the first few minutes but played our way back into the game and scored a couple of goals before half time from Noah & Monabi to lead 2-1 at the break – Valence scored 2 goals straight after half time to lead 3-2 but we never gave up and Monabi scored his second to level 3-3 and with a couple of minutes to go Charlie scored to win the game 4-3

Mr Stevens quoted ‘’ it was a bit scrappy at first but we tried playing passing football and got better and better as the game went on ‘’ – He was very happy with the ‘’Team’’ performance as was My Raybe who was delighted with us on how we played

Man of the Match was Clarence for staying in his position all game and playing really well
